Enjoyed the walk and visit to the temple with family consists of small kids, but don’t bring food in plastic bag as the monkeys there are quite aggressive and may grab it away.
A very pleasant place. Went by KTM rail from KL Sentral. There are nearly 200 steps to see to the cave temples. The exercise is worth doing. Really must visit place to see an Indian connection with Malaysian land
Note that it is a religious place but not necessarily a tourist spot. Pay attention and respect to the dress code and other rituls.. If you are short on time not necessary to visit.
There isn’t much to see on the top but why not if you are already there. Visiting at 10 am is much better considering the heat and crowd.
Taking a Taxi from the city is rather cheap in my standard (work in Europe) and can save you lots of time.
The best part of the Murgan temple is it’s inside the limestone cave with holes on top with light and water (rain water) coming in, also the outer view is great with a lot of greenery in the mountain area. Climbing the stairs is not a cake walk but doable for most. You just need to watch the steps, you will find bananas/fruits in the steps maybe the leftovers from monkeys or people’s, some (little bit) garbage in and around the area. Those who sweat will get wet on normal days but will be worth it, Better to sit and enjoy both the temple and nature (cave) once you reach the top.
Absolutely must have to visit, fascinating views, inspirational atmosphere, you are like in India feelings, one of the places to meditate. And even the entrance is free of charge. But why 4 stars? I am answering, too dirty and not well maintained. They have to clean and repair this place, please…
