Jaya Grocer is a Malaysian upscale supermarket chain. As of 2024, it operates 50 stores in Peninsular Malaysia, with most of its locations in the Klang Valley.[1]
The chain was founded in 2007 by the Teng family, aiming to establish a premium supermarket brand. The family previously founded the Teng Minimarket Centre in Bangsar and the Giant supermarket chain before selling both retailers to Hong Kong–based DFI Retail Group. AIGF Advisors, a private equity investor, acquired a 45% stake in Jaya Grocer in 2016 after investing RM300 million in the chain in 2016. Teng Yew Huat owned the remaining 55% of the company. The Teng family bought back AIGF’s stake in 2021.[2]
Jaya Grocer became a subsidiary of Grab, a Singaporean technology company, following its acquisition of the supermarket chain from the Teng family seventeen days after the family’s buyback of AIGF’s stake.[2] Grab CEO and co-founder Anthony Tan said that the acquisition would allow the company to deliver on-demand groceries to customers faster.[3] Victor Chua, managing partner of Kuala Lumpur–based venture capital firm Vynn Capital, described the Grab acquisition as a “strategic move” by allowing Grab to strengthen its supply chain and expand its business to encompass offline operations.[4]

Easy parking and perfect place to get ur groceries needs. Nice place to hang out n having dinner here with ur friends n family
Caters majority of the goceries for the majority of the community in the area. There are some fresh produce that is not available here, so I have to do my groceries somewhere else from time to time.
Would be great if it opens earlier.
Good for grocery shopping, can find everything here from local to imported that you might not found somewhere else and you even can find all organic products here if you choose to eat only organic food
Quite a large area covered for convenience and good shopping for daily needs. Observed that of cleanliness and presence of good vibes, considered an upmarket place in Puncak Alam.
Most items are imported so prices are on the higher end of course.
It’s not that big but sufficient for most needs. Stocked with imported products from Australia , new Zealand and europe .
However in the bakery and bread section , most of the time it is not always well stocked or always finished fast
After 2 years of shopping here, it’s gone downhill. For some reason they decided to stop selling mineral water in cartons which was always in high demand. Some inventory very slow to be restocked. The cereal section has been poorly stocked s for months now. The fruits section also sometimes not fresh.
