Yes the monkey is beautidful here but if you are anyway a Bugis decendant .. this is a place to go… they display the lineage and would make you understand more than the 5 daeng that we learn in history text book back in secondary school.
Most importantly i had laugh along … not in a bad way thou just the fact to read is awesome like why bukit cheraka was named adapting form the word cilaka and the mat salleh can’t pronounced it well… or how funny all the keris have lengkok but bugis yield parang panjang like a weapon… which kinda sad they didnt mention bangkung …
It is true thou they love parang and badik .. but keris i think was later influences by riau which make it is more similar to malay keris ….
bugis and parang … like berpisah tiada. Amusing .. and after the hot weather from the journey up.. although by train.. those aircond is a must have …
Surprisingly, at top of Melawati Hill, there is small muzium where you can find information on history regarding royalty of Selangor and history of places in Selangor.
Recommended for someone who having interest in history of Selangor.
Though small, yet equipped with well-written history of the Kuala Selangor District as well as the Selangor State. Entrance is free and it is open 7 days a week. OKU friendly. Am proud of the KS District Council for operating this museum to keep the history of KS and Selangor alive. A good place for educational visit and tourism. An excellent example for the other states on preservation of history, culture and values. Thumbs up to you
The muzium is located on hill Melawati. 8 rm/ adult foreign, 4 rm/ adult local to entrance. Museum displays all antiques and information of city KS.
Fornt of museum, displaying the cannons. Special is great view to shot the best sunset pictures. (This zone is outside Museum.free of charge).
We take a tram which cost RM5 for Malaysian adult and RM3 for children to the top of Bukit Melawati. We look around the hill. Not bad scenery from the top. It is cloudy day and about to rain when we enter the museum. It’s free entrance. You may learn history of Kuala Selangor district. However, we have not finish tour the museum because to catch the last tram due to raining and there will be no tram going up if rains. We couldn’t walk because one of our family has leg injury. So, we decided to come again later. Furthermore, one new museum exhibits traditional game will be opening soon.
