I was shown a few rental properties but ultimately went with the one closest to my university. The agent was accommodating and assured me that all clean-up, maintenance, and repairs would be taking care of prior to the move-in date. My suggestion for future expats, immigrants, and foreigners is to have resources to hold the landlord accountable for noncompliance and nontransparent communication. I would use this agent again because of his friendliness,
open communication, and ability to find appropriate housing in a timely manner.
